The cultural juggernaut that is "Hamilton" is sitting out this season in Greenville, but will return to the Peace Center for the 2020-2021 Broadway season.

Peace Center officials shared the news Monday night during the season announcement for the 2019-2020 Broadway season. "Hamilton" is one of two blockbuster musicals making a return engagement during the 2020-21 season.

"We're happy that 'Wicked' and 'Hamilton' are coming back," Megan Riegel, Peace Center president and CEO, said Monday.

When "Hamilton" played Greenville in 2018, fans lined up for hours in person, and online, for a shot at tickets during its two-week run.

Countless others registered for the digital lottery offering a limited number of $10 tickets for each show.

The only way to guarantee the opportunity to purchase tickets for the return engagements of "Hamilton" and "Wicked" is to purchase season tickets for the 2019-2020 season, Riegel said.

Season subscribers for 2019-20 will have first access to those tickets when renewing season subscriptions for 2020-21.
