There is a new place to shop in Reidville. Tucked between Greenville and Spartanburg, Sweet Tea Station is a fun place to find one-of-a-kind home decor and gifts. The store opened Jan. 27 and is full of farmhouse-style decor.
“Everyone is into the farmhouse style right now,” said owner Sabrina Hodges. “We have wooden and vintage signs, candles, greenery, wreaths and seasonal gifts.”
Hodges hopes the store will become a go-to place in the community for unique gifts.
“We will have lots of little gifts that you can pop in, grab and go,” Hodges said. “For Valentine’s Day, we have heart-shaped tins, notepads and pens, and adorable spatulas with Valentine’s sayings.”
Hodges gained experience in home decor through her work in travel and tourism and as a realtor.
“I love putting things together and people have always told me that I have a good eye,” she said.
The vintage style of the store offers a nod to the location’s history. Originally a service station and ice cream shop, the location was central to the community.
“People come in all the time and tell me stories of times when they were in the station,” said Hodges. “So many people grew up in this store. My family owned a general store, so the store is a way to honor both the history of this store and my own family history. I hope people will continue to come in and feel at home here.”
To encourage a friendly southern feeling and honor the store’s name, Hodges will have a sweet tea station where thirsty shoppers can come in have a drink and chat.
“If you live in the South, you have to have sweet tea,” she said.
