Celebrate Saturday instead of Sunday

Kitchen Sync will be honoring their own moms on Sunday so stop by for lunch and/or dinner on the 12. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant is offering some unique features as well as the famous tomato pie.

Brunch

Larkin’s Sawmill is offering a very special brunch that includes a buffet brunch, printed picture with mom to take home, kids gift making station and gift to give mom, service charge & gratuity.

Alcoholic beverages may be purchased separately. Prices range from free for children 4 and under to $44 for adults.

Spoonbread at The Westin Poinsett: One of the oldest standing brunches in town, this place serves it up right from chacuterie and cheese display and omelets to smoked salmon, fresh fruit and sweet treats galore. 120 S. Main St., Greenville; for reservations call 864-421-9700.

French treats

Try something non-traditional and stop in at Authentique French Creperiein Simpsonville. The restaurant offers delicious French crepes and galettes in a lovely setting. Also, Authentique French Creperie is open for lunch both Saturday and Sunday, and also serves dinner on Saturday nights, so celebrate at any of those times. For reservations, call 864-757-8559. And speaking of French delicacies, Le Petit Croissant is a perfect place to indulge mom’s sweet tooth. Try one of the eclairs (they have a passionfruit one!) or the mousse, or any of master chocolatier and owner, Vincent Caradonna’s beautiful creations. 640 S. Main St., Greenville.

Comedy

For a special treat this Mother's Day, Alchemy Comedy has put together a show featuring performances of the mothers in our company, with their kids as the special guests. The show will be family-friendly and will draw on audience interaction in parts. 

The show is 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the Alchemy Comedy Theater at Coffee Underground, 1 E. Coffee St., Greenville. Tickets are $10.

Wine

Give mama an experience that includes sipping interesting wines. The Community Tap is hosting a Rose Social 2- 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12. This event will feature 24 different wines from rosé producers representing six continents, 12 countries and four states.

The $45 ticket gets you samples as well as food from Chef Tobin Simpson, of Project Host’s CC Pearce Culinary School.

The Wine and Craft Beer experience at Artisphere is a great chance to give mom a little respite during the festival. The experience is $10 and includes five tastes and a small plate of accompaniments.
